2. Information We Collect

We collect information about you in several ways:

• Personal Data: Name, email address, professional title, bio, location, and other information you voluntarily provide when creating a profile or applying to our programmes.
• Account & Authentication Information: User IDs, authentication credentials, and connected profile links (such as GitHub and LinkedIn), managed securely via our identity provider.
• User & Member Content: Projects, tools, receipts, articles, comments, assessments, and other contributions you share or submit to the platform. When you save event attendance plans, your name, attendance status and optional note are visible to all signed-in members so they can coordinate with you. Registration with an external event organiser is handled on that organiser’s website. If you opt into shared calendar email invitations, your account email is used to invite you. Your emailed acceptance or decline updates your attendance status, visible to signed-in members. Switching off stops new invitations; updates and cancellations for invitations already received continue.
• Usage & Technical Data: Information about how you navigate and interact with our platform, including browser type, device information, access times, pages viewed, and referring URLs.

Profile preparation

After admission, we prepare a private profile draft using professional information you supplied, your public LinkedIn and GitHub pages, and clearly connected public sources. Public-page providers may receive those URLs; our search provider may receive your name and professional search terms. Our AI provider receives selected source excerpts and your supplied professional background to suggest a bio, role, skills and projects. We retain source references and a record of your review. We do not request your LinkedIn password or cookies. Uncertain identity matches require your confirmation. You can cancel research, discard suggestions, edit the draft, or request another run. Suggestions remain private until you approve saving them; existing content is preserved. Publishing and profile visibility remain your choice. Approved additions to an already published profile follow its existing visibility.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following legitimate purposes:

• To operate, maintain, and secure our platform and member services
• To create, verify, and manage your account and public or gated profile
• To evaluate applications and run live technical assessments (such as LQ Assess)
• To facilitate community features, tool directories, and member insights
• To communicate with you regarding programme updates, technical developments, and opportunities
• To monitor platform performance, fix technical issues, and improve user experience

4. Data Storage and Security

We employ industry-standard technical and organizational measures to safeguard your information:

• Encrypted Database Storage: Member records and trust graph data are stored in managed Postgres databases with encryption at rest and in transit.
• Secure Transmission: All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted using modern HTTPS/TLS protocols.
• Access Controls: We enforce strict role-based access controls and least-privilege principles to limit internal access to user data.

5. Third-Party Infrastructure & Sub-Processors

Our platform relies on reputable third-party infrastructure providers to deliver reliable services:

• Clerk: Identity management, authentication, and session handling
• Neon Postgres: Serverless database infrastructure
• Vercel: Web application hosting, serverless compute, and asset delivery
• PostHog: Product analytics to understand site usage (we do not record session replays)
• Google Calendar: When calendar email invitations are enabled, delivers invitations and processes responses using your account email and event details. We do not access your personal calendar or include your attendance notes in invitations.
• Stripe: Payment processing for paid assessment and residency programmes

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable local laws (including the Australian Privacy Principles and other international privacy frameworks), you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal records, subject to legal retention obligations
• Portability: Request an export of your contributions and profile records in a machine-readable format
